Anthony "Tony" Francis Adler III, 59, of 429 Sconondoa Street, Oneida died unexpectedly Monday morning April 22, 2013 at his residence. Tony was born on October 22, 1953, in Syracuse, the son of Anthony F. and Ellen Ryan Adler Sr. He was a graduate of East Syracuse Minoa High School Class of 1971 and SUNY Morrisville. He married Mary Margaret Colin on December 26, 1992 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Morrisville. Tony was currently employed as the custodian at St. Patrick's Church and School in Oneida. He had previously been employed with Ralston Supply Co. of Canastota, American Steel in Liverpool and Longyears Express in Liverpool. Surviving is his wife Mary; his parents, Anthony and Ellen Adler Sr. of East Syracuse; his two children, Toni Lynn Backus of Canastota and Adam Robert Backus of Ithaca; two brothers, Thomas Adler of Mount Vernon, IN and Andrew (Patricia) Adler of East Syracuse; two sisters, Nancy (Andrew) Abrahamson of N. Olmstead, OH and Diane (John) Adler-Farnach of Manlius; and several nieces and nephews. Prayer service 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church Oneida. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
