Heart Attack Claims Man of Sp. Fork
Spanish Fork - George A. Abott, 31, died suddenly Saturday evening at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Hinckley, a son of William L. and Nettie Mae Theobald Abbott. He married Marilyn Elmer on May 10, 1957, in Spanish Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Mr. Abbott was employed at the Nelson Ricks Creamery in Spanish Fork for seven years, and for the past six years he had been employed at the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co., in Provo.
He was a member of the LDS Church and was serving as Elders Quorum secretary at the time of his death.
He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 849 and was serving as recording secretary of the Steelworkers Union 1659.
For seven year Mr. Abbott was associated with Boys Little League Baseball in Spanish Fork and this past year was district representative for the Colt League of Spanish Fork.
Survivors include his wife, one son and one daughter of Spanish Fork, Bonnie Abbott and William Lyn Abbott; his stepmother, Mrs. Hortense Abbott, Salt Lake City; five brothers and three sister, MacLyn Abbott, Ladd Abbott, both of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Kenneth (Nina) Sorensen, Sacramento, Calif.; Mrs. Glen (Ruth) Losee, Delta; and Mrs. Clair (Mary Loy)Taylor, Modesto, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Spanish Fork Second LDS Chapel. Bishop Allen Francis will officiate. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary Tuesday evening from 7 to 0 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services.
Interment will be in Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
