Michael George Shimauchi, AKA Carlos, was born to Erin Buckley McFarlin on June 10, 1987, in Santa Rosa County, Milton, Florida. He was a Senior at Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, NC. Michael was a musician, playing percussion in his high school band, and was an avid fisherman especially with his Uncle Michael Jordan, and could tell some tales that would make you laugh. Sports was also his passion from football to soccer and the many friends he made along the way. His life was short but even though with purpose.

Preceding him to his new life was his Aunt Maida ‘Twigett’ Bean.

Surviving is his mother, Erin Buckley McFarlin; stepdad and buddy Ernest “Mac” McFarlin; father, Jeff Shimauchi; sister, Crystal Shimauchi; his “brother” and best friend, Derek Combs; his stepsisters, Jana Decker and Nikita McFarlin; his grandmother, (“daddy”); Great-Aunt Maida Jordan, AKA ‘Lupe’; his Uncle Michael Jordan; aunts, Marie Triestram, Melody Star Recor, Trisa Otero, Lisa Robinson; cousins, Miguel Garcia Diaz, Robo Mayol, Felix Negron, Tito Otero, Melody Marie Triestram, Chenoa Otero, Manuel Solis Jr.; his baby, Sug; and many friends.

Donations can be made to the Wilmington Chapter of NAMI, PO Box 4485, Wilmington, NC 28403, and flowers can be sent to Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Rd.

Funeral services will take place at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel, on Wednesday May 4, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. by Michael F. “Mickey” Moser and the burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends, Miguel, Tito, Derek, Jason, Travis and Kenny. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel.
