Orris was a nursing student for 4 months at the Knoxville General Hospital and was making such splendid progress that the superintendent of the nursing school stated Miss Cline promised to make one of the best nurses ever turned out by this institution. Orris taught school for 1 semester in Cumberland County schools and in 1915 was one of the winners in the Panama Exposition subscription contest put on by the Chattanooga News and made the trio with the News party. She was a bright and lovable girl and had many friends in Cumberland County.
She is survived by her parents, Professor Josiah and Lillian Sweeney Cline, 5 brothers, 4 sisters.
