Vivian M. Oberg
Vivian M. Oberg, 68, of Farnam, died May 9, 1996, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 16, 1928, south of Farnam to Thomas N. and Leona F. Harbert Castor. On Jan. 14, 1950, she married Lawrence E. Oberg at York. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1995.

She graduated from Farnam High School in 1946. She worked at a hospital in Holdrege a number of years before her marriage. She and her husband farmed together south of Farnam for many years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farnam, the Farnam Library Board, the Sunshine Club, North Union Aid, Marriage Encounter and the United Methodist Choir.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine (Norman) Heiden of Kearney; two sons, Dale (Brenda) and Tom, all of Farnam; five grandchildren, April and Heath Oberg and Melissa, Bobby and Angela Heiden.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Farnam with the Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the Blasé Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
