She was united in marriage to R. Y. Wear on December 27, 1871. To this union were born 11 children, 3 of whom preceded her in death.

The deceased and her husband moved to Saline county, Nebraska, in 1872, where they made their home until the fall of 1898, when they came to Frontier county. They were there until the fall of 1924, when they moved into Farnam, on account of the failing health of the husband, who passed away May 14, 1925.

She leaves to mourn her departure eight children: Mrs. John Roberts, Ira, Roy and John Wear and Mrs. S. F. Hazen, of Farnam; Mrs. Clara Shirey, of Friend, Will Wear of Southwest City, Missouri, and Louis Wear of Norton, Kansas. All were present for the funeral with the exception of Will. She also leaves 55 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, four sisters, one brother, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, August 30, from the Methodist church, with Rev. Lauren Messersmith, pastor of the Congregational church at Stockville in charge. Interment was made in the Farnam cemetery.
