"Jimmy" was and will always be my brother. Just 20 months younger than me. He and I were best of friends when we were children. He was one of the most beautiful souls I have ever known. He had a heart of gold. He loved his family, especially his grama and grampa. He searched for happiness in many things: martial arts, weight lifting, comedy, and finally he met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in April of 1977. Unfortunately he attended a very "legalistic" church.
This legalism hurt him very much. He was made to feel as though he wasn't "good enough" for God if he didn't walk, talk, and dress the way they told him he should. He had a tendency towards depression. One night in Oct. 1979, he was at a very low point with the depression and was playing with a gun. He ended up shooting himself. Many people think it was suicide, but I know that he didn't do it on purpose. I also believe with all of my heart that he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven and that I will be reunited with him again for eternity. I miss him!!!
