REV. J. C. COLDWELL DIES IN FLORIDA
A telegram announcing the death on Saturday afternoon of the Rev. Joseph C. Coldwell at his home in Tallahassee, Fla., has been received by relatives in Louisville. Miss Mary Logan, who was on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Coldwell, had written that Mr. Coldwell was ill with grip. The last news, however, was encouraging, and it is supposed that the disease suddenly assumed a severe and fatal form. Mr. Coldwell had many friends in Louisville and Kentucky, as most of his active life in the ministry was spent in this State. He was a native of Shelbyville, Tenn., and a graduate of the Southwestern Presbyterian University, at Clarksville, Tenn., and the Union Theological Seminary of Virginia. He had held pastoral charges at Culleoka, Tenn., Holly Springs, Miss., and in Kentucky at Elizabethtown, New Providence and Morganfield. He left the last named place a few months ago to become pastor of the Presbyterian church at Tallahassee. Some years ago Mr. Coldwell was married to Miss Annie Logan, sister to Misses Mary, Samantha and Bettie Logan, whose home is at 1312 Brook street. Mrs. Coldwell and an only daughter, Miss Mary Logan Coldwell, survive him.
Mr. Coldwell was a Christian gentleman of the highest type, warm in his affections, quiet and genial in his manner, considerate of others, and faithful in all the relations of life. He was a pastor who endeared himself to his congregation, and a minister whose sermons were instructive in matter and impressive in delivery. He had been in the ministry more than twenty-five years, and the announcement of his death will carry sorrow to many hearts that through these years he had comforted in trouble and inspired to Christian living. Arrangements have not been made for the funeral services, which will probably be held in one of the Presbyterian churches of this city on Wednesday afternoon.

In the article on his marriage, which is on his wife's memorial, there was a long list of gifts which I did not include, and the following siblings were named: sisters, Emma, Maggie and Addie; brother, Emmett.
