COTTAGE GROVE - The funeral will be held April 4 for Mildred Warner of Cottage Grove, who died March 31 of age-related causes. She was 88.

Warner was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Fertile, Minn., to George and Alvina Lindberg Carlson. She married Raymond Warner in Fertile on March 24, 1935. He died Oct. 31, 2000.

She worked as a cook at London Elementary School in Cottage Grove for 10 years. Warner enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping, fishing, cooking and baking. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove. Warner lived in the area for 55 years.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Auburn, Wash., and Roger of Cottage Grove; two sisters, Norma Asp of Clear Lake, Wis., and Adeline Stevens of Fertile; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Three sons, David, Duane and Raymond, and a daughter, Sharen Englund, died previously.

Thursday's service will be at 2 p.m. at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Burial will be at Walker Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
