Cause of death: Acute Congestive Heart Disease
Son of Harvey Britton & Helena "Lena" (Williamson) Crouse and husband of Cora Elizabeth Morgan, whom he married on 11 Sep 1920 in Finesville, NJ. He served in World War I in Europe, mainly Semur, France, as an orderly, setting up a hospital in the basement of a civilian home at one time. He then worked as a stenographer for Mr. Lynch, later the Lynch in Merrill-Lynch. His main employer was Pennick & Ford, and Lester sold starches to paper mills throughout New England. He and Cora had 2 daughters: Dorothy Mae (my mother) and Mary Elizabeth "Betty." They had 3 granddaughters whom they adored (and maybe spoiled just a little!). They lived in Bogota, NJ until about 1930 when they settled in the Springfield, MA area, living for several years on Sumner Avenue and then moving to Longmeadow, MA in 1951. His body was cremated and the ashes were later sprinkled near the rhododendrons in Forest Park, Springfield, MA by his son-in-law, Edward Kent Bodurtha.
