Cause of death: Acute Lymphatic Leukemia/Cerebral Hemorrhage.

Daughter of James H. & Florence Elizabeth (Holeman) Morgan and wife of Lester Williamson Crouse, whom she m. 11 Sep 1920 in Finesville, NJ, specifically, in the home where she lived with her mother and grandparents, Joel & Elizabeth (Horner) Holeman. She graduated from Trenton Normal School in Jan 1915 and taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Harbourton, NJ for several years. She volunteered with the American Red Cross for many years, knitting socks for soldiers during both World Wars and driving the Gray Ladies to the Veterans Hospital in Leeds, MA in later years. She loved children and had two daughters, my mother, Dorothy Mae, and Mary Elizabeth "Betty." They had 3 granddaughters whom they adored (and maybe spoiled just a little!). She and Lester lived several years in Bogota, NJ. About 1930 they settled in the Springfield, MA area, living on Sumner Avenue for a while and then moved to Longmeadow in 1951. Her body was cremated and her ashes were later sprinkled near the rhododendrons in Forest Park in Springfield, MA by her son-in-law, Edward Kent Bodurtha.

Mrs. Cora M. Crouse

Mrs. Cora M. (Morgan) Crouse died in her home at 21 Glenwood Cir., Longmeadow, Tuesday after a long illness. She was born in Trenton, N. J. Jan. 3, 1895, and had been a resident of Longmeadow for the past 10 years. A member of Faith Congregational Church, she was also active in Red Cross work. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy C. Texeira of Longmeadow and Mrs. Edward K. Bodurtha of Southampton, and three granddaughters. The funeral will be held at the Byron funeral home Friday at 1:30 p. m. with Rev. David E. Weinland, pastor of Faith Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. today.
