Discrepancy re middle initial: One or more Internet sites says his middle name is Ankrum. Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, vol. V, p. 227, lists no middle initial for Hezekiah, but the McBrides' cemetery book, 1972 edition, p. 118, lists children of "H.I." and E. [Esther]. The 1850 census lists him as "H.A.," and the 1860 census lists him as "Hezekiah H." Because of the discrepancy, no middle initial or name is used on this memorial -- making it consistent with the Quaker records from Hinshaw.

Date of death: The "6th mo 8th" in the tombstone inscription has caused some confusion. One or more Internet sites list Hezekiah's date of death as Aug 6th, but Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, vol. V, p. 228, clearly shows the date to be the 8th day of the 6th month and says he died at age 72 and was buried at Fairfield.

Page 227 of the same volume shows that on 1820, 12, 16, Hezekiah, son of Benjamin & Patience, Highland Co, married at Fairfield to Esther Chalfont, daughter of William & Ruth of Highland Co, and lists children of Hezekiah as Bulah (born 1821), Louisa (1822), Benjamin (1824), William (1826), Bidell (1828), Elizabeth (1828), Hezekiah (1832), Elles (1835), Nathan (1837), and Mary Jane (1840). (Hinshaw includes the months and days of the children's births and includes some of their deaths.)
