William Claud Addison passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the age of 85.
He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Marks Addison for over 60 years.
Loving father of Darlene A. Messina, William P. Addison, and the late Eleanor J. Addison.
Brother of Andrew Lewis "Andy" Addison, and the late Clyde Jacob "Jake" Addison.
He is also survived and fondly remembered by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Claud was a past master in the Masonic Order, a 32nd Consistory and a Shriner of Jerusalem Shrine Center; a past master of George Washington Lodge #65 (now Graham-Washington); a charter member of Dominique You Lodge #468; past President of the Michoud Square Club and the St. Bernard Shrine club. He held a 25-year gold certificate of proficiency in Masonic work. He was a "Top Fundraiser" for the Shriners Circus Autograph Program.
As a U.S. Marine in WWII, he served in three major campaigns: Guadalcanal, Guam, and Iwo Jima. While working at Michoud, he contributed much to the Boeing Company's Saturn V program designing tools and procedures to enhance their performance.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Friday, February 27th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM.
Burial will follow in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
