James Riley Baker, 69, died Wednesday morning at his home on West Neighbor St., following a three year illness due to a paralytic stroke at that time and another suffered last week.
Mr. Baker was born April 10, 1870 near Plainfield, his parents being John D. and Charlotte [Hawk] Baker. He was a member of the Plainfield M. P. Church. He had resided in Newcomerstown for many years and was an employee of the Jas. B. Clow plant for more than twenty-five years, until ill health forced his retirement, three years ago.
Surviving are one son, John Baker of Columbia, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Lola Fretague of Coshocton; one brother Lewis Baker of Plainfield and one sister, Mrs. Christine Latham of Coshocton. Three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 from the Jones-Lydick Funeral Home conducted by Rev. J.C. Cotrill and interment will be made in the Plainfield Cemetery.
