ROBERT E. TUSCHL

Robert E. Tuschl, age 84, of 2115 Cappaert Road, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, April 17, 2007, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 2, 1923, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Frank and Ida (Gintner) Tuschl.

Bob was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army overseas in the European Theater.

On May 22, 1946, he married Marian Tostenson in Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May 2006.

After returning from the war, he attended Sheboygan business college. Bob was employed with Mirro Aluminum in the accounting department for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was also owner/operator of Bob's Self Service Car Wash for several years.

Bob was a former county board supervisor for six years and a charter member of the Disabled American Veterans Association of Two Rivers, VFW Otto Oas Post 659, Travelers Protective Association and a former usher at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Gordon and Ruth Tuschl, Norbert and Margaret Tuschl; and three sisters and five brothers-in-law: Dorothy and Otto Severson; Betty and William Bredeson; Frances and Carlton Wickesberg; Walter Helgeson; and Keith Wolfman; A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be the Rev. Steven Olson with burial of the cremated remains at Gjerpen Cemetery, Valders. Military graveside rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post 659.
The family will greet relatives and friends at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to thank Pastors Steven Olson, Steven and Marcia Solberg, Harmony West, Dr. Laliberte, nursing staff and hospice staff at Aurora Medical Center, for all of their continued love and support.

Bob was a kind and loving father and was adored by his children and grandchildren. He was a great outdoorsman and loved camping, hunting and fishing. He was an avid golfer at Meadow Links where he even shot a hole-in-one. Bob was a great patriot who loved the flag. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He will be dearly missed by all. We love you.
