Dora, age 84, a long time resident of Eugene, passed away April 15, 2013 in Portland, OR. It was a very peaceful passing with her daughter and granddaughter at her side.
Dora is joining her husband and father of her children, Frederick (Freddy); her beloved granddaughter, Amy; and her dearly loved son, Ronald. They made the journey before her and will show her the way.
She leaves her son Henry LaClair of Eugene; daughter, Dorothy Walsh of Portland; granddaughter, Jessica Rader of Portland; great-grandsons: Jack and Henry Rader of Portland; and sister Gertrude Ulbricht of Eugene.
Dora was born on April 5, 1929 in Kattowitz [sic], Poland, daughter of Anton and Hedwig Dron. The family left Poland and settled in Sontra, Germany. Dora was always very proud of her German heritage.
Dora met and married Freddy when he was in the US Army, stationed in Germany. The family left Germany to reside in Massachusetts before moving west to Oregon. She was a consummate mother and homemaker. After suffering a stroke in 2010, Dora moved to Portland to be close to her daughter.
Dora will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. We will remember the wonderful food she cooked, her love of Christmas, her selflessness and her strength. We will miss her.
A private memorial will be held at a later date for family and close friends. Dora will be interred alongside her husband at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eugene.
