Roy C. Bell, 79, of Luray, VA peacefully departed on April 13, 2013. Roy, a District native, grew up in South East Washington and graduated from Eastern High School. After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked for the Washington Gas Light Company as a field clerk. He then joined the U.S. Capitol Police Force and was a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He retired as Deputy Chief in 1992.

Roy was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the York and Scottish Rite, the Shrine, and the Knight's Templar. He was also a member of Page United Methodist Church, former president of the Rotary, former president of Crimesolvers, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Georgia Bell, daughter Cynthia Rogers, son-in-law Michael Rogers, and three grandchildren; Aurora, Roxanne, and Max.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, 2039 US Hwy 211 West, Luray, VA 22835.A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 11am at Page United Methodist Church, 1062 Springfield Road, Luray, VA 22835.
