Ethel (Largent) Lukins Sanders

Service for Ethel Lukins Sanders, 93, a lifetime area resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Plymouth Congregational Church in Colfax, Wash., where she was a member.
Burial will follow at the Colfax Cemetery with Bruning Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sanders died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Village in Moscow, Idaho.
Daughter of Eastern Washington pioneers, Richard and Mary Frances Largent, she was born Feb. 19, 1892, at Pomeroy, Wash.
She married Lee Lukins on July 31, 1919, in Kahlotus, Wash. They lived in Lacrosse, Wash., and in Pullman before moving to Colfax in 1925. Mr. Lukins died in 1945, and she married Roy Sanders in Moscow in 1952. Mr. Sanders died June 16, 1962.
Mrs. Sanders had lived in the same home in Colfax for 53 years.
She was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Pythian Sisters, the American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of the Nile.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Camp of Lacrosse; one son, Richard Lukins of Beaverton, Ore.; three stepdaughters, Marion Sanders of Colfax, Rita Hermann of Milton-Freewater, Ore., and Evelyn Yarter of Burton, Texas; two sisters; one brother, Elton Largent of Pasco; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. John (Frances) Druffel, and a stepson, Robert Sanders, died earlier.
The family suggests memorials to the Whitman County Hospice Society.
