Theresa L. "Lee" Strycker, 81, of Oak Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, in her residence. She was born on Oct. 23, 1918, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 30, 1940, in Goshen, Ind., as Theresa Augustine, she married Howard Strycker, who preceded her in death on May 23, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Theresa L. (Carey) Augustine; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Hess, who died in 1985; and by three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by four daughters, Virginia (Dennis) Hixenbaugh of Pittsburgh, Pa., Rosemary (John) Hess of South Bend, Bonnie Strycker of South Bend and Laura (Robert) Overholser of Atlanta, Ga.; four sons, William (Valerie) Strycker and Daniel Strycker, both of South Bend, Larry (Karen) Strycker of Lakeville, Ind., and Michael (Vickie) Strycker of Ft. Collins, Colo.; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Loretta (Robert) Barthel of South Bend. Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakeville. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Strycker was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
