Mrs. D. R. Barnett died at her home two miles east of town Sunday afternoon, death following an illness of a few days.
Mrs. Barnett's maiden name was Cantrell. She was the daughter of J.T. Cantrell, who formerly lived in this section, but moved to Western Texas about ten years ago.
Deceased was born in Alabama May 8, 1880, and came to Texas with her parents when she was a child, the family locating near Honey Grove.
She was buried on the forty third anniversary of her birth.
In 1900 the subject of this sketch was united in marriage with D. R. Barnett.
To this union ten children were born, seven of whom, with the husband and father survive.
In early childhood Mrs. Barnett gave her heart to God and united with the Presbyterian church. Several years ago she and her husband united with the Baptist Church at Allen's Point.
Surviving this good woman are her husband and seven children, the babe only a few days old.
May the blessings of God be on the bereaved ones and heal their wounded, bleeding hearts.
The funeral service was held at the cemetery chapel Tuesday morning and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. Rev. Ira C Kiker conducted the funeral service, paying a beautiful tribute to the beautiful life of the Christian woman who has entered into eternal rest. Then the remains were given burial in Oakwood.
