Born on June 17, 1935, in Rockford, she was the daughter of the Rev. A.A. and the Rev. Amy Lee (Henderlite) Finders.
She married Allen Schaefer on Aug. 16, 1957, at the Ascension Chapel, Augustana College.
A well-known music educator and soloist, she attended First Evangelical Free Church. She was very involved with the National Federation of the Blind and the Quad City Breast Cancer and Lymphodema Suport Group.
Surviving are her husband, Allen Schaefer of Moline and a brother, W.L. Finders (May Bell) of Olathe, Kan.
