The burial of the remains of Mrs J R Callaway, mother of Dr C L Callaway, of this city, took place last Sunday in the family cemetery at Prosperity.
Mrs Callaway, it will be recalled, died last January at her home in Winchester, Ky, but on account of traffic conditions existing on the railroads at that time, it was not thought advisable to try to bring her body home for burial and it was placed in a vault to await more favorable conditions.
Her daughter, Mrs J C Codell and Mr Codell and Mr Callaway accompanied the remains here, and they were joined in Charleston by her son, Mr E R Callaway.
Her body was laid to rest in the presence of her family, and a few relatives and friends. Mr and Mrs C M Callaway of Huntington were among the relatives from a distance to attend the burial.
