He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Delores.
Jimmie is survived by three daughters, Heather Devore, Amy Barber, and her husband, Ashley, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and April Goertz, and her husband Donald Goertz II, of Laguey, Missouri; a grandson, Kevin Devore; a brother Bobby Devore, of Eldridge, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Lebanon and raised in the Sleeper community. After graduating from Stoutland High School, he served in the United States Navy for a few years. He then returned to Sleeper,where he worked as an exterminator and in the
septic system business for several years.
Jimmie was a member of Sleeper United Methodist Church and had fellowship with First United Methodist Church in Lebanon.
He greatly enjoyed music, and particularly liked country, bluegrass and classic rock. He liked listening to guitar music and also enjoyed dancing. He liked being outdoors, and was a people person, never meeting a stranger. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandson.
Jimmie was a loving father, grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
