Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 1975 from the Linwood Baptist Church for William A. (Bill) McNair, 83, who passed away Tuesday, April 22, 1975 at his home.

The Reverends Jody Moore, Wayne Crenshaw, Bobby Thompson and Ivor Clark officiated. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

McNair was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He was a farmer, a veteran of World War I, a member of American Legion Post 138, and a member of the Linwood Baptist Church.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Gertie McNair, three daughters, Mrs. J.D. (Carrie) Belk and Mrs. V.B. (Johnnie Kate) Shepherd, both of Neshoba, and Mrs. Ivor (Audine) Clark of Macon; three sons, William Doris McNair of Meridian, James (Jack) McNair of Shuqualak, and Hugh McNair of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lois Adkins, Bernell Adkins, Rouse Reynolds, Frank McNair, Delmas McNair, Press Cannon, Maver Cannon, and Cleveland Young.
