Obituary.
KITTY ANN CARVER.
Died, Feb. 20, 1897, after an illness of ten days, Kitty Ann Carver, in the 79th year of her age.
She was the daughter of Abram and Catharine Glascoe; born in Bourbon Co., Kentucky, Nov. 18th, 1818; removed in early life to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was married to Mr. Henry E. Carver, Oct. 16th, 1839. From thence they removed to Iowa City in April. 1855, an from thence to Linn County, Iowa, in 1864.
Mrs. Carver was the mother of nine children, five of whom are still living, viz., Mrs. Sarah C. Cleveland, of Marion, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Fisher, of Omaha, Neb., Geo. W. Carver, L.R. Carver and Wm. E. Carver of Marion, all being present at the funeral.
She was left a widow by the death of her companion at Marion, Iowa, a little over a year ago.
She embraced the religion of Jesus when quite young, uniting with the Baptist church; afterwards, together with her husband, was awakened to the subject of the near coming of Christ by the preaching of Wm. Miller, in 1844. They united with the Advent church and after removal to Marion united with the Church of God in this place in which connection they remained faithful christians until taken away by death.
The funeral services were held at the house of Mrs. S.C. Cleveland where she made her home, conducted by I.N. Kramer, assisted by S.W. Mentzer, elders of the Church of God.
