Frances V. Richardson of Bloomington went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Golden Living Center on Friday, May 3, 2013. She was born to Charles A. Galyan and Mary Ann (Fleener) Galyan on Sunday, March 15, 1925. She graduated from Unionville High School and married her sweetheart, Homer A. Richardson in 1943.

After settling in San Francisco during Homer's deployment in the Navy, the couple made their way back to Indiana to begin their family. Frances loved her job as head cook at Unionville School, always eager to dish up extra servings of her homemade fare. Frances was a big fan and a supporter of IU basketball, her grandkids' athletics, and her church, Little Union Baptist Church, where she was a member.

Survivors include: her children Marvin D. Richardson and wife Ramona, Norman L. Richardson and wife LaDonna, Cheryl A. Richardson, and her brother, Charles J. Galyan and wife Jean, all of Bloomington. She is survived by grandchildren: Duane Richardson, Kevin Richardson, Shannon Duvall, Nathan Richardson, Jason Richardson, Amanda Guinn, Nick Chafin, Jackie Richardson, Jennifer Crandall, and Rebecca Brown and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Clarance Galyan, Myrtle Monday, Bertha Goodall, Pearl Richardson, Grace Lind, Edith Young, Carl Galyan, Mary Chitwood, and Norma Ragle.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Pastor Ronald Hamrick at Little Union Baptist Church at 5511 North Brummetts Creek Road in Bloomington, Indiana, 47408. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Little Union Baptist Church and one hour prior to the service.
