Born July 14, 1907, in New Oxford, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Mary (Weaver) Smith.
Alice and her late husband owned and operated Hagarman's Bowling Alley and Swimming Pool in New Oxford.
She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown.
She was the devoted mother of three daughters, Dolores McHugh of Ocean Pines, Md., Janet Mullen and her husband Francis of Fallston, Md. and Wanda Bemiller and her husband Albert of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and two sons, Donald G. Hagarman and his wife Christine of McSherrystown and Lawrence J. Hagarman and his wife Patricia of Monticello, Fla. She is also survived by her loving 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Stephen Hagarman and Jeffrey Mullen; a sister, Grace Luckenbaugh; and by a brother, Francis "Ike" Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday at Annunciation Church, 26 N. Third St., McSherrystown, with the Rev. Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with a prayer service to be held at 8 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Donald Hagarman, Lawrence Hagarman, Brent Hagarman, Gregory Hagarman, Douglas Hagarman, Patrick Hagarman, Troy Hagarman, and Todd Bemiller.
