She was born Aug. 18, 1877, in Montpelier, Blackford County, a daughter of Lymon E. and Eliza Jane Simpson. In 1908 she came to Anderson.
April 1, 1901, she married Arthur R. Riffle in Anderson. He died June 19, 1954.
Under her administration the Chesterfield Camp was thoroughly modernized; she supervised building there of three new hotels, a cafeteria, art gallery and the Cathedral of the Woods.
