Marie as she was known to her family and friends, was the fifth of thirteen children. She was raised near Seymour and enjoyed growing up in the Ozark Hills.
On September 2, 1944 she and Elvis Ray Henderson were united in marriage and to this union were born four sons and two daughters. The young couple moved to their dairy farm south of Seymour where they remained for fifty-two years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Elvis Henderson, two sons, Joe Dean and James(Bob) Henderson, one grandson, Jeffery Dean Henderson, her Parents, two brothers, Elston and Clarence Hargus and four sisters, Lorene Goss, Louisy Hargus, Juanita Ensley and Jolene Stephens.
Marie is survived by her children, Everett Wayne Henderson and wife Martha of Rogersville, Missouri, Linda and her husband David Williams of Marshfield, Missouri, Gary Henderson and wife Carolyn of Seymour, Missouri, Betty Cawthra and husband Robert of Ozark, Missouri,her grandchildren, Melissa Teal, Danny Henderson, Janice Rippee,
Angela Willis, Terry Henderson, LeAnn Pittman, Christi Williams, Sheldon Cawthra, Shannon Cawthra, Derek Cawthra, and Jody Jameson. Great grandchildren,Brianna, Jasmine, Taylor, Wyatt, Riley, Parker, Makaila, Bryent, Logan, Brooklyn, Lincoln and Jozie; three brothers, Lawrence, Bill and James; three sisters Dorothy Parker, Mary Lou Bolten and Deny Fields.
Marie was a member of Mansfield Assembly of God Church in Marshfield, Missouri. She faithfully served her Lord Jesus Christ, giving to others and teaching her family faith by example. Children had a special place in Marie's heart and she treasured them.
A dairy farmer's wife, Marie found favor in working with her hands. She lovingly raised her family and enjoyed the chores of caring for the livestock and her gardens.
She was often at the Senior Citizen's Center and loved playing bingo. But, Marie was at her happiest surrounded by her family, she was proud to be a mom, grandma and granny.
Marie Henderson leaves behind a legacy of grace, faith, and unconditional love. We celebrate her life's accomplishment's
and will treasure the memories she has created for each of us.
