Mrs. Duffie Slade Donaldson, died Tuesday in Rocky Mount hospital after a long illness. The daughter of the late Arthur Slade and Jimmie Michael Slade, she resided in Rocky Mount for the past 45 years at 215 Jordan St. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gay-Yost Funeral Home by the Rev. H. C. Lowder. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery. She was a native of Bertie County, and a member of Arlington Street Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, W. A. Donaldson of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Ruth Donaldson of the home; one sister, Mrs. H. E. Savage of Rocky Mount; one half-sister, Mrs. Lonnie Skinner of Lewiston; and two grandsons, Ricky and Jeffrey, both of Rocky Mount. Friends may call at the home of the son, W. A. Donaldson at 1500 Rosewood Ave. or at the home of her sister, Mrs. H. E. Savage at 1125 Tarboro St. Pallbearers will be P. L. Frazier Jr. G. F. Barnes, H. C. Pigford, Richard Ray, Preston Moore Jr. and Carthoris (Pete) Adcox.
