Martin "Bud" Norwood, 73, of Colorado City, died Friday, May 3, 2013, in a Colorado City hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Ken McIntosh, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the funeral home.

Bud was born October 30, 1939, in Lohn, Texas and married Sandra Gillette July 7, 1980 in Big Spring.

He was an independent insurance agent and also wound electrical motors for a living.

He loved fishing at Lake Brady and tending to his livestock and garden.

He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Norwood of Colorado City; three sons, Kerry Norwood and wife, Cristy of Odessa, Shelby Norwood and wife, Diane of Huron, Tennessee, and Martin Norwood, Jr. of Colorado City; four daughters, Elizabeth Stovall and husband, Adam of Whitehouse, Vicki Golleher and husband, Jason of Big Spring, Christy Brownfield and husband, Kevin of Big Spring, and Suree Birck and husband, Kaiser of Johnson City; 23 grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, James Norwood and wife, Margi of Stephenville; and four sisters, Mattie Norwood, Nell Thames, Myrt Tindol and husband, R. D. "Doc", and Mary Palmer and husband, John, all of Big Spring.

He was preceded in death by his parents W. H. and Della (King) Norwood; two sons, Kaylen Norwood and Bubba Gibson; one grandson, Rowen Speck; sister Vivian Grantham and her husband Shorty; and one other brother-in-law, Henry Thames.
