'Services for James C. Pender, 24, who died Friday in Good Samaritan Hospital from injuries suffered in an industrial accident July 26, 1973, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Grace Community Church, 2201 South Tempe Road.

Mr. Pender, who lived at 1837 West Elliot Road, came to the Valley 18 years ago from Ana, Illinois where he was born on November 11, 1948.

He was an electrician and was employed by Howard P Foley Co. of Phoenix, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers, Local 640. He was graduated from South Mountain High School, Phoenix.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. of Chandler (the former Shirley Gates of Kyrene); one daughter, Rachel; a brother, Tom of Gilbert; three sisters, Mrs. Rosetta Farmer of Chester, Illinois, Cynthia Pender of Gilbert, and Wendy Pender of Gilbert.

Friends may fall Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Carr Mortuary, 26 East Fifth Street. Pastor Guy Davidson will officiate at the services at the church, followed by burial in Double Butte Cemtery.

The family prefers contributions to the James C. Pender Memorial Fund, Grace Community Church of the Vally, Tempe.'

Gravesite Details

Headstone is located just inside the west entrance near the large tree seen in the cemetery photo. The irrigation entrance allows water to run on the stone making it dirty most of the time.
