Obituary:

David Eugene Blair Jr., 70, made his Heavenly transition peacefully and surrounded by his loving family, Friday, May 3, 2013.

He was the first child born to the late David Eugene Blair Sr. (Snook) and Frances Ware Blair on May 3, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was a 1962 graduate of College Hill High School. He was employed with Magic Chef, Maytag and Whirlpool Corporation from which he retired in 2009 after giving 45 years of service.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Blair Jarrett; beloved grandfather, Swan Blair; brother and sister–in–law, William Lewis Evans Jr. and Janet Evans Blair; and nephew, Charles Blair Jr.

Married to his soul mate, best friend and love of his life, Billie Evans Blair of 45 years, who survives him; sons: Christopher Eugene (Connie) Blair of Cleveland and David Anthony (Christie) Blair of Dacula, Ga.; six precious grandchildren who were the joy in his life: Ashley, Chyna, Bryson, Ava, McKenna and Alex; brothers: Charles "Fat" (Edith) Blair of Cleveland, Robert "Sonny" Blair, of Summerville, Ga. and Larry Bruce Blair of Cleveland, Ohio; sisters: Elaine Blair Farmer and Barbara Jean Blair, both of Cleveland; brothers-in-law: Charles (Eula) Evans of Huntsville, Ala. and Randy Jarrett of Cleveland; sisters-in-law: Joyce Evans (Ernest) Cowan of Chattanooga, Nancy Evans Ware of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Sally Evans (Keith) Chancey of Tulsa, Okla.; devoted family friend, Elise Rymer of Conway, Mass; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive him.

The body may be viewed Tuesday, May 7, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and also Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from noon until the service time at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. will be the eulogist.

Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.
