(1959 - 2005)

Julie Ann Schelk, age 62, of 314 N. Wisconsin Drive, Howards Grove, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 21, 2005.

She was born in Kewaunee on August 23, 1942, a daughter of Eldon and Florence (Fink) Voss. Julie attended LaFollette Grade School in Town of Centerville and Lincoln High School in Manitowoc.

On September 5, 1959, Julie Voss and Roy Schelk were united in marriage at St. John-St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Over the years, Julie was employed in various jobs; most recently working at Bill's Piggly Wiggly in Howards Grove. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a special closeness with her grandchildren, Melissa and Brandon, who she helped raise. Julie loved gardening, traveling and baking. She especially enjoyed collecting miniature cows and angels. Julie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove.

Surviving Julie is her loving husband, Roy; three sons, Mike (Danielle) of Eagle River, Steve (Kandy) of Sheboygan and Chuck (Paula) of Howards Grove; one daughter, Vickie Schelk of Howards Grove; her father, Eldon Voss of Newton; nine grandchildren, Melissa (special friend Jeff Kernen), Brandon, Trisha, Brittany, Trevor, Sabrina, Chelsea, Haleigh and Ethan; two step-grandchildren, Zach Travis and Chrissy Hernandez; one brother, Ronnie (Connie) Voss of Town of Meeme; two sisters, Betty (Bruce) Bunge of Newton and Bonnie (Gene) Feldmann of Elkhart Lake; four brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Faye) Schelk, Roger (Diane) Schelk, Walter (Verna) Schelk Jr., and Donald (Delores) Schelk; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Grunewald and Carol Jean (Dennis) Roethel, as well as many nieces and nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

A funeral service will be held for Julie on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. Reverend Darrel Bergelin, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Kassa. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Julie A. Schelk.

Julie's family wishes to extend special thanks to Reverend Darrel Bergelin and Vicar Mark Williamson and the many caring family and friends for food and visits during this difficult time. Special thanks to Jacque and Donna from Aurora Visiting Nurse Hospice for their care and compassion.
