Rosemary Van Hess, 100, of Salem died Thursday.

Born in Liberal, Mo., she came to the Salem area in 1926. She worked for the Oregon Physicians Service for many years, and enjoyed playing and teaching piano, traveling, hunting and fishing.

She married Ray in 1984; he died in 1990.

Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Boock of Salem; sons, David and Charles, both of Aumsville; sister, Irene Keeney of Salem; brothers, Charles Wright of Salem and Buford Wright of Kansas City, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Court Street Christian Church, where she was a member. Interment will be at City View Mausoleum. Arrangements by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors.

She married Waldo Adrian Baker in Liberal, Missouri, on October 30, 1918, when Rosemary was 18 years old. The couple had one daughter, Doreen Baker Boock, and three sons, Jack Baker, David Baker, and Charles C. Baker.
