Ephraim Berry, 91 died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Glasgow Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The Barren County native graduated from Austin Tracy High School in 1939, served in the Army as a pilot in the Army Air Corps in both World War II and Korea and served as Assistant Army Attache in Vientiane, Laos in the late 1950s. He worked for Barren County Mental Health as plant supervisor at the Cave Lake Workshop and continued to work part time in semi retirement at the Lessenberry Do-it Center. He was an ordained Cumberland Presbyterian minister, pasturing a number of area churches from the early 1970s until stepping down from the pulpit last year. He was also an avis bowler, still competing in two leagues a week until after his 90th birthday.
He is survived by two sons: John Berry and wife Connie and Mark Berry of Glasgow; one grandson: Joshua Berry and wife Monica of Glasgow; one great-grandson: Gabriel Berry; two nephews: James and Alan Steenbergen and one niece: Joyce Craven.
Funeral services for Ephraim Berry will be at 1PM Friday, May 10, 2013 at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1PM to 8PM Thursday at the funeral home.
