BURLEY ~ Naomi Lynch, 87, of Burley, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

Naomi was born April 22, 1926, in Hooper, Utah, the daughter of Lee Ellis and Raymond Marie (Wiart) Higley. She was the sixth of seven children. The family later moved to Paul, where she graduated from Heyburn High School.

She married Don Holmes on Nov. 23, 1946, in Paul, and they became the parents of four wonderful children. They were later divorced.

After working as the secretary for Holmes Construction Company she became involved working and modeling for the B-Mary clothing shop at the Ponderosa, and then opened the gift shop ‘Imports Etc.' in downtown Burley.

On Oct. 21, 1983, Naomi married James Lynch Sr. in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was thrilled to gain three more children with this marriage. She and Jim enjoyed traveling and supporting their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their many activities.

Shopping in New York City was a favorite activity, although she was really good at shopping anywhere! She loved "Lunch Bunch," "Crazy Eights," flowers, and of course bridge.

Her family was especially grateful that she loved to cook! They were the recipients of amazing meals and always looked forward to family get-togethers. She had a wonderful wit and sense of humor and made everyone she knew feel loved.

Naomi will be missed greatly by her husband, Jim Lynch, of Burley; her brother, Lee (Maria) Higley, of Heyburn; and her children, Sheryl (Chris) Dowling, of Orem, Utah, Sandi Viau, of Hailey, Rick (Melanie) Holmes, of Rupert, Curtis Holmes, Jim (Karen Ann) Lynch, and Steve (Marcia) Lynch, all of Burley, and Gary (Pam) Lynch, of Twin Falls; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Tracey Gorringe and Anthony Pica; her first husband, Don Holmes; and her siblings, Evona Duff, Bea Thaxton, Marcine Hacking, Albert "Bud" Higley and Wallace Higley.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
