Ms. Alice Lydia Glowner passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas at the age of 62 years and 30 days.
Alice was born March 27, 1951 in Cottonwood Point, Missouri to Henry Glowner and Irene Howell Glowner.
Alice was a lifelong resident of the Bootheel area. She attended Cooter High School before she moved to Dunklin County. Alice was friendly and outgoing and was always willing to help others in need. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed going on over the road trucking trips with her life partner Don Umfress. She was a member of the Beechwell General Baptist Church in Campbell, Missouri.
Alice is survived by her son Dale Fry and his wife Lacey, two grandsons, Cody and Elias Fry, her life partner Don Umfress, her sister, Eva Bailey and her husband Bill of Texas, her childhood friend, Linda Middleton, as well as numerous other relatives.
Preceding Alice were her parents, Henry and Irene Glowner, a sister, Elizabeth Irene Dowden and a brother Jackie Glowner.
Pallbearers for Alice were Randy Shepherd, Matthew Unfress, B.J. Burkeen, J.R. Pendergrass, Brian Miller and Jackie Middleton.
Visitation for Ms. Glowner was Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Chapel at H.S. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services were held immediately following the visitation with Bro. Gary Gelsinger officiating. Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
