He married his 1st Wife Gloria Jean Pashby on May 23rd 1959 in Burlington, Vermont.

He married his 2nd Wife Janice Beth McGinley on January 26th 1980 in South Burlington, Vermont.

South Burlington - Leonard "Lenny" Harold Hayes passed away on January 9, 2016 at his most recent residence, St. Albans Health and Rehab Center.

He was born on April 29, 1938 in Vergennes, VT. He was the oldest child of Robert and Marjorie (Rock) Hayes.

Leonard graduated from Burlington High School and served in the United States Army Reserves.

He worked for H.P. Hood Company delivering milk to homes for many years.

He retired from Lockheed Martin.

He was proud to work with his father and brothers part-time at the Burlington Free Press.

Leonard loved golf and was a longtime member of Rocky Ridge Golf Club where his proudest achievement was a hole in one.

He custom made golf clubs for many individuals. He also was an avid bowler on many leagues.

Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marjorie Hayes and his brother-in-law Dwight Churchill.

Arrangements are in the care of the Cremation Society of Chittenden County.
