CHERRY VALLEY — Laraine Loomis, 51, passed away Dec. 24, 2000, at the home of her stepdaughter in Odessa, Mo.


She was born May 1, 1949, in Cooperstown, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Bridger) Morton.


She was married to Albert A. Loomis on May 29, 1982, in Cherry Valley; he predeceased her on Feb. 19, 2000.


Mrs. Loomis attended Richfield Springs School. She loved auto racing, baseball and the time she spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and nieces and nephews.


She is survived by her sisters, Joan Weiner, whom she resided with in Cherry Valley, and Norma Duncan of Cooperstown; brother, David Morton of South Carolina; stepdaughters, Sue O'Hare and her husband, Wesley, of Odessa, Mo., and Mary Clinton and her husband, Dale, of Cooperstown; brother-in-law, Harold Ingersoll and his wife, Margaret, of West Winfield; eight stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.


Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her mother, Gladys Welch, a sister and two brothers-in-law.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Ottman Funeral Home, conducted by Lyman Johnson.


Burial will be in Schuyler Lake Cemetery at a later date.


Calling hours will take place on Friday, Dec. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


Contributions in Mrs. Loomis' memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.


Arrangements are entrusted to the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley.
