Dorothy D. (Greimann) Anderson, 92, of Ventura died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, May 11th at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Rose Visser, lay pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ellington Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Dorothy Dena Anderson, the daughter of Rev. Herman and Caroline (Haberkamp) Greimann, was born August 29, 1920 at Schaller, Iowa. She graduated from Garner High School in 1937 and continued her education at Waldorf College where she received her teaching certificate. Dorothy taught in the rural schools from 1938 to 1942. On August 29, 1942 she was married to Robert "Norm" Anderson at Peace Reformed Church south of Garner. During the time that Robert spent in the Air Force they lived in Virginia, South Carolina and Kansas. They farmed northwest of Ventura from 1947 to 1997 where they raised their six children. After the children were in school for ten years, Dorothy became the manager of the Prairie View Apartments in Garner. In 2002, she moved from the Anderson farm home to Prairie View Apartments. Her hobbies included gardening, quilting, cooking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, Bible School and was active in the women's WELCA. She also volunteered at the Clear Lake Care Center for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her five children, Carolyn (Dave) Luscomb of Clear Lake, Robert Anderson, Jr. of Ventura, Jacqueline (Robert) Mathewson of Littleton, CO, Thomas (Kathy) Anderson of Tempe, AZ and Gregory (Julie) Anderson of Edina, MN; a son-in-law, Steven Schultz of Coralville, IA; grandchildren, Brett Luscomb, Jody Luscomb, Andrew (Rachael) Luscomb and their two children, Parker and Taylor, Christina (Jenn) Tolentino and their threee children, Leo, Anthony and Ariana, Robert Anderson III, Alan Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Brian Mathewson, Kimberly Mathewson, Eric (Anna) Anderson and their two children, Lauren and Riley, Karis Anderson, Justin Anderson, Mark Anderson, Jonathan (Jaime) Schultz, Scott Anderson, Katherine Anderson and Margaret Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Anna Greimann Huenemann; husband, Norman, Feb. 17, 2001; daughter, Jill Schultz; two granddaughters, Allison and Emily Anderson; brothers, Curtis and Eugene Greimann; sisters, Adeline Carothers and Charlotte Swanson; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Doris Greimann, Marion Anderson, Vivian Anderson, Ruth Greimann and Doris Greimann; and brothers-in-law, Charles Carothers, Leonard Swanson, Bert Anderson, Lester Anderson, Earl Anderson and "Bud" Greiman.
