Mary Ann (Ralph) Marlin born ca. 1828 New York, died 4 Feb 1897 in Frontier County, Nebraska. She was buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (Marlin Cemetery) In Frontier County, Nebraska. Mary Ann had migrated with her sons from Franklin County, Indiana, to Frontier County, NE, sometime in the early 1870's after the death of her husband Charles Marlin on April 25 1867. The sons who were either with her or joined her later were:

---Charles E. Marlin, born 14 Oct 1848 in Salt Creek Twp, Franklin Co. IN, died 9 Oct 1901, Frontier Co. NE.
---William G. Marlin, born 9 Feb 1852 in Salt Creek Twp, Franklin Co. IN, died 4 Nov 1922 at Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff County, NE.
---Ethan Allen Marlin, born 27 Apr 1865 in Salt Creek Twp, Franklin County, IN, died 1 Jul 1947 at Parsons, Labette County, KS.
---Charles Grant Marlin, born shortly after his father died 7 Oct 1867 in Salt Creek Twp, Franklin County, IN, and died at Torrington, Goshen County, WY, 8 Jul 1944.

Two other sons Paul and Cicero may have accompanied the group but did not stay around Frontier County. By 1880 both were married, had a child, and were in Guide Rock, Webster County, NE.

Note: the lot marker in the photo is tentatively identified as the marker for Mary Ann's lot. There is no inscription and no name marker found above or below ground other than "Baby 1899-1900" directly to the north (left) of the lot marker, and a World War Veteran flag holder. There's also plenty of room for her to be in the lot with son Charles (1-2 rows west and a couple lots north of this marker), however this being Mary Ann's lot is consistent with the near identical lot marker (also with no name) for Hurshman which is entered by that contributor as the lot of Samuel S. Hurshman 1877-1895. Mr. Godfredsen informs Mary Ann's son Charles Grant Marlin married Martha Bell Hurshman (born 29 Nov 1872, died 24 Jun 1961 at Torrington, Goshen Co. WY) had a brother Samuel S. Hurshman 1877-1895. It appears the two markers were likely placed by the same person at the same time.
