He had been employed for 23 years by M.S. Johnson and for the past 12 years by the Potomac Edison Co. He had been in the Air Force during WWII. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a member of the National Duck Pin Bowlers Association and had played softball and baseball with the Washington County Leagues.
He is survived by his wife, June C. Lowery Barnhart; daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Sandy) Crum, Walkersville' four sons, Albert (Skip) Barnhart, Hagerstown; Charles L. Barnhart, Gaithersburg; Jeffrey L. (Rusty) Barnhart; and David W. (Scotty) Barnhart, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. John Webb and Edna Ridgeway, both of Hagerstown; three brothers, Ernest W., Charles H. and Kenneth D. Barnhart, all of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery.
