Found in The State 28 February 1926: Mrs. Ann Jane Civil, age 74, died at her residence, 721 Laurel street, yesterday afternoon at 5:59 o'clock after an illness of two months. Mrs. Civil was the widow of the late John A. Civil, life long resident of Columbia. She was a woman of high Christian character, a loyal friend and a devoted mother. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's Catholic church. She is survived by two sons, Robert Civil of Columbia and Dr. John K. Civil of Charlotte, three daughters, Mrs. A. R. Bayard, Misses Josephine and Lillian Civil, all of Columbia; six grandchildren, and one sister, Miss Ellen Hannon of Columbia. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's church Monday morning at 10 o'clock conducted by the Rev. N. A. Murphy, rector. Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery.
Her sister Ellen is buried at Saint Peter's, memorial # 186623175.
