Body of John Anderson Returned Here For Burial -
John McCurty Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Gale Anderson, was born south east of Palmer, July 22th, 1876 and passed away December 9, 1937 at Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 11 days.
When a young man he taught in the Palmer neighborhood for a short time, when he entered the drug store of the late Dr. C. S. Minnich, where he had his early training as a Pharmacist. He stayed here for about three years, and then left for Callaway, Nebraska, entering in this same work. Later he opened a store of his own at Merna and operated a drug store at Hemmingford for several years. The past ten years he has operated his own drug store at Edgerton, Wyoming.
John was a man of very cheerful disposition and his many friends in this neighborhood have only high praise for him. He carried this same reputation to the various places he has been since leaving Palmer.
His father, mother and brother Hugh proceeded him in death.
He leaves to mourn, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Wagner of Wellington, Colorado, Mrs. Homer Strong of Hemmingford, Nebraska, one brother, Robert of Wellington, Colorado, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. A. Napier at the Methodist church at Palmer, Nebraska on the afternoon of December 14th and interment in the Palmer cemetery on the family lot. The pall bearers were friends and neighbors of the family, J. H. McGonagle. Lloyd Strong, Harry Weber, Joe Nicholas, Harold Campbell and Frank Newlon.
