Gaspare's Parents:
*Maria Gullo of Bronte
*Tommaso Calcagno of Randazzo
His siblings:
*Francesca, married name Zerbo
*Vincenza, married name Laurie
*Elizabetta, married name Gangi
*Giuseppe
*Agatina, (never married)
*Serafino
*Nunziata, married name Orecchia
*Serafino, (Ensullo)
Gaspare passed away when he was a young child, age around 4.
I only heard bits a pieces about him from my mother. My mother was much younger than Gaspare and did not know him.
I will do more research on him and tell his story.
I do know one thing, his mother mourned his death for the rest of her life. He was never forgotten and his mother Maria would always talk about him and what a smart little boy he was and how well behaved he was.
He would pass away from a very high fever. His mother Maria was worried about his very high fever and carried him to the local doctor. While being carried he told his mother "don't carry me mom, I'm too heavy for you".
For the rest of her life his mother Maria would talk about Gaspare with tears in her eyes.
The loss of little Gaspare was devastating to her and the family.
Riposa in Pace, Gaspare
