Mr and Mrs Willard Gahris hosted a coming home party for Colonel Weybrecht from Europe. It turned out the olives bought at a local store contained bacillus botulinus. Six people at the party lost their lives, including Colonel Weybrecht.
ANOTHER VERSION OF HER BURIAL. Serious researcher can go from here. I do not remove memorials because someone sends me a email . Even a headstone is NOT proof. My fathers headstone is over a thousand miles away from where he is buried. Best info. comes from death cert's . in my opinion.
^^^^^^ SORRY ^^^^^
Helen Gahris maiden name was Sebring and she is buried in Grandview Cemetery Sebring, Ohio. Please remove from the Alliance City Cemetery, Thank you, Sherry

Suggested edit: I was in Sebring Ohio this week and spoke to a local historian. The "Olive Incident" is true! Seven people died. Helen died after only three days. Ironically, early antibiotics would be "invented" very soon after the incident and would have saved the victims. The ones who survived did not eat the tainted olives. The 100th Anniversary of this incident is next year and they are trying to decide what to do for it.
