US Congressman. Born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, he achieved the rank of Captain during the Revolutionary War and was held as a prisoner of that war from 1776 to 1778. He was elected to represent Pennsylvania in hte United States House of Representatives, serving from 1801 to 1805. He moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 1805 and was the Receiver of the land office there until 1826.
