U.S. Congressman. Born in Kent, Ohio, he graduated from Kent State High School in 1938 and during World War II, he served in the US Army Air Corps, (1942-46). After the war, he graduated from Kent State University, in 1947, from William and Mary School of Law Virginia, in 1950, was a lawyer private practice and prosecuting attorney of Portage County, Ohio, (1952-59). In 1959, he was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-sixth and Eighty-seventh Congresses, serving until 1963. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was a judge of the Court of Common Pleas, Portage County, Ohio, (1963-69) and a judge of eleventh district Court of Appeals of Ohio, (1969-88). He died at age 68 in Portage, Ohio.
