Helen A. Caponigro, 82, of Ocean Township, died Friday, May 10, 2013 at Barnabas Health Hospice in Long Branch. She was born in Lyndhurst and moved to Ocean in 1968. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a licensed practical nurse and attended the Monmouth County Vocational School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Asbury Park where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was very active with the Sweet Adeline's chorus.

She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Alice Guida and a brother, Anthony Guida. Surviving are her husband of 61 years Alfred E. Caponigro; 7 children, Alfred E. Caponigro, Jr., Rosemary Smentkowski, Elena Mazza and Mark, Richard, Lori Anne and Rory Caponigro; brother, Michael Guida; 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Wednesday 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by an 11 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Asbury Park. Entombment will be at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.
